1 September to 30 November

In Spring the days are getting longer and the temperature is getting warmer.  Beautiful blossoms are starting to  flower and there is so much to enjoy in Thames.  In addition to the historical sites, art galleries and museums it is a great time to start to get back in to the outdoors.

Walking & Cycling

Head out and explore one of the many walking or cycling tracks in the Kauaeranga Valley. Make sure you check out the DOC website to find out if there are any warnings on the tracks and to ensure you have all relevant information for your adventure.

If you are visiting on the weekend the Saturday markets on in Grahamstown are always buzzing and a great way to start the day.  There are lots of boutique shops and great cafes in Grahamstown worth checking out including Cafe Melbourne, Sola Cafe, Grahamstown Bar & Diner and Chequers Cafe.

With the warmer days starting the kids can enjoy being outside and riding on the Small Gauge Railway or playing at the Porritt Park Playground.

Spring is a beautiful time of year to take in the spectacular panoramic views of the town from the Thames Monument or to grab some fish and chips from Waiomu Cafe and sit on the local beach and watch a stunning New Zealand sunset.
