Trev (the skipper) has 30 years experience fishing on the Firth of Thames and knows the local fishing spots.
Trev charters from Thames , Waikawau, Kereta and other locations on request. Why drive all the way to Coromandel on the windy hill when you can go by water?
Fish the Firth of Thames, Mussel farms, Hauraki Gulf and Coromandel Islands. The type of fish you are likely to catch are snapper, kahawai (the fish of Kings), king fish, trevally, John Dory, gurnard.
Kahawai are widespread throughout the Coromandel and are found from the estuaries out to the outer islands. This sleek fish has an average size of 40cm to 50cm long and weighs in at around 2 to 3 kg. The Kahawai have great fighting ability and have earned the reputation as one of the top "light tackle" game fish of New Zealand.

You'll find Trev and the team in Te Mata, about a 15-20 minute drive north of Thames.
