Te Mata Lodge is set in a hidden valley. Rated one of New Zealand's top 10 family accommodation options for both 2015 and 2016 - Now in the top 25 for budget options as well through Tripadvisor!
There are 10 acres of native bush with grassy lawns, gardens and a couple of short walks. The Te Mata Creek borders the property and provides opportunities for swimming and kayaking, gemstone gathering, gold panning and river walking.
The owners see Te Mata Lodge as a “work in progress” and have a heart to develop Te Mata Lodge further by introducing a Not-For-Profit aspect. The cabins on the property will be used to facilitate retreats and youth programmes through a recently established charitable trust called LivingWell Trust.
The abundance of native bush and birds make for idyllic peacefulness as your Coromandel accommodation. BBQs, picnic areas and benches are situated under the trees along the river for meals, a quiet cup of tea, shared bottle of wine or peaceful contemplation.
Each cottage, chalet and cabin has a booklet with information about Te Mata Lodge facilities, day trips and outings, and historical/geological information about the Coromandel.
You will find Te Mata Lodge nestled in Te Mata which is located 25 minutes north of Thames on State Highway 25.
